My new love, dry shampoo!

If you keep up wit my blog then you know I love wild hair colors. What I don't love is how quickly they wash out. Recently I was selected by influenster to try their dry Shampoo vox box. I received Suave Keritan infused dry shampoo to test and review. I added a photo of the review at the top four you guys to see.

What I love about this dry shampoo is it doesn't leave any white residue behind. It also doesn't lighten up my blue hair. That was my two main worries when it came to trying dry shampoo.  I am also happy to report it smells great , like I just used a salon shampoo. It gives my hair amazing body and I can still use my flat iron and steam iron with no weird smells from the dry shampoo. If you haven't given dry shampoo a try I highly recommend this one. Especially for those days where you just don't have time to wash your hair but it needs a pick me up.

Sela Beauty Steam Brush

This steam brush is amazing. You will see before and after pictures of my naturally curly hair and the results after using the Sela Beauty brush. I took these pictures while doing a youtube video for them to show how it works, and man does it work.

I don't know about you guys , but my serious down side to straightening my hair is

 1. the products I have to use to keep it straight

2. the damage caused by the heat. We all know those split ends are still there no matter how flat we get it. My hair was like straw.

3. I had no body or volume with a flat iron. My hair was, well flat, and lifeless

4. The only way my hair had a health shine was to use yet another product to add shine when I was done. 

This steam iron has fixed every problem I hated about my flat Iron!

To the right is my naturally curly hair. Freshly washed, air dried, I did use a coconut mask on my hair for a deep conditioning , but I have used this steam iron on my hair multiple times in the past few weeks, and the results are the same. So essentially there is no product in my hair. Actually since using this product my natural curl even looks better than when I was flat ironing my hair all the time. Before some of my hair would dry staight, some wavy sections, and some curly. That doesn't happen anymore.

The next picture is a shot of Maynard and I getting set up for the video to show you how this thing works. ( If you don't follow me on instagram, Maynard is my assistant. He is the little wooden doll. ) So, how does it work? The steam brush is actually like a steam iron. You add water to a little holder that slides on the back. You plug it in and turn it on. Select the heat setting for your hair. I used the highest setting of 450 degrees Fahrenheit, because my hair is a lot thicker than it looks. You can also change the degrees to Celsius settings on the push button screen . Yes it has a screen that flashes a little steam symbol while it warms up. It only takes 90 seconds to reach full heat and unlike flat iron it doesn't lose heat while you use it. It stays a constant temperature. With my flat iron I would have to let it warm up again sometimes inbetween straightening my hair. Anyway, once it has reached your desired heat settings it will beep and the little steam symbol stops blinking. When you clam this on your hair you will hear the steam release. If your hair is wet it will sound like a sizzle. ( yes this can be used on damp hair, it will dry it as well as straighten it. It does advise you not to use it on wet  hair though only damp.) Because my curly hair tangles easy I ran my hairbrush through my hair before starting. Just section out your hair and put it between the combs and press it together like you would your normal flat iron. If you have long hair like me the steam stops producing after 15 seconds I think, just open the straightener and clamp it back down. When I am not doing a video it takes me less than 10 minutes to straighten my hair with this.

Look at that shine! My hair is straight but it has volume and body! The steam Iron is so much healthier for your hair too! Since your using water it keeps your hair hydrated and is so much less damaging.I really can't believe how soft my hair feels after I use this. It doesn't feel the same as a flat iron at all.

Valentia Clear Lift Revitalizing serum

Last month I introduced you guys to Valentia.  A company that makes Vegan friendly, organic, 98% natural ingredient face care. I am still in love with their Ultra Plumping Hydrating Face mask and they asked me to try their clear lift revitalizing serum. You can't really see how well their products work by reading what I write but I have you covered. The first picture is the day before I started using The revitalizing serum. I Had been using their Ultra Plumping hydrating mask for a couple weeks in that photo though. No make up and my skin does look good, but it gets better.

 To the right is the actual product. It looks small but a little goes a long way. Three pumps is all I need for my whole face and my neck. Just like the mask I love the scent of this serum. The picture below is one week after using the revitalizing serum. I am actually wearing liquid foundation. I haven't been able to do that in over a decade because my pores were so large. They are barely noticeable now. Since I mentioned decades before you guys think I am lying I am 36 and have worn make up to cover my acne since I was 15. I used concealers , cream foundation and mineral powder foundation to cover my acne and scars before I started using Valentia.

 Also keep in mind while I have been using this product I have been in and out of the hospital. I had to have a colonoscopy and have some things removed. I am happy to report it wasn't cancer like we thought! I also had an upper GI and found out that my GERD was worse and I have barretts
esophagus. Along with some pretty nasty bleeding ulcers and I was dehydrated. Why am I telling you all this?  Because of the collage below.

The picture to the left is me in 2013. With the cream foundation , concealer and mineral foundation. Yes I know , but there was no way I would take a picture back then without all that on. If you look closely you can see how much darker my face looks than my neck and chest because of all the make up. The picture two the top right was last week in the hospital after having a heart cath. Yeah this witch has been sick, but I didn't look it. No make up and sick at the hospital I let the hubby take a picture because he said I was the most beautiful sick girl he had ever seen. The bottom picture is after two weeks of using the serum and look my face and neck are the same color because I don't have to hide it with a ton of make up!

 To the left is a bigger picture of that same day after two weeks of use. My skin is tighter, softer, no break outs, and my pores are so much smaller!

This has been one of my favorite nozzles. Me and plastic hose nozzles just do not get along. I drop them and break them, dogs have chewed them all to pieces, i have run them over in the drive way and managed to break them and flatten my tire in the process.  I was so glad to see that RY Gardener had made a metal hose nozzle. I will admit I dropped it right out of the box. No worries though. Not even a scratch. It is overlayed with pvc to make the grip more comfortable and it really is. I have the beginning stages of arthritis in both my hands , which is why I drop things A LOT. I used this nozzle to clean the siding of the house and I can happily say it was easy to grip and I didn't have to squeeze very hard on the handle to keep it spraying. My hands didn't hurt at all afterwards. 

The nozzle arrives well packaged in this little box to the left. You get extra washers , two extra o rings and  2 extra fast connectors. Everything you need to keep your nozzle completely leak proof.

Due to a recent and unexpected surgery I don't have a video to show you guys yet, but I should have one up and ready by the weekend. Of coarse it has been raining and stormy here in Alabama since I have started feeling better.


The hose is easy to adjust by twisting the brass nozzle. At it's strongest spray it's pretty close to a power washer at it's lightest you could spray the most delicate of petals. If you are in the market for a new garden hose nozzle this one is great!

 Throughout the years my husband has had numerous shower mirrors, that all claimed to be fogless. Needless to say I had my doubts when I was asked to review this shower mirror for Cassani .

It comes packaged nice and safe in this little box. You get the mirror, instructions, a hook for the mirror, and a hook for your razor. I will admit getting the backing off the mirror was a bit of a pain but the front side came off easily. It says to use alcohol to clean the wall before applying the sticky hook. Alcohol wasn't enough for my tile so I used nail polish remover with acetone. This did the trick and the hook stuck perfectly. Now for the fun part. Was it really fogless and would it stay fogless?

 We tested the mirror for about 5 days, with steaming hot showers and then immediately turning the cold water on to see if we could get it to fog up. The mirror didn't change.

 The picture to the right may look out of focus but that is me focusing on the water and the steam in the bathroom before showing you how well the mirror works. Let me just say that my camera fogged up more trying to get these pictures than the mirror ever could have. Also this is take two because my awesomely smart self got into the shower the first time to do the pictures. I would have had to change the blog to the wet Alabama witch in the nude and no one wants that . So on to take two!






The picture on your left is focused on the mirror as is the picture below. As you can see there I am perfectly clear. This really is a fogless mirror! It works great and I love the razor holder. As i have gotten older my skin has gone from oily to extremely dry. That youthful glow is gone and I am noticing I have a waddle. My skin just isn't as tight anymore. would. In the days I have used it and after leaving it on for 30 minutes at a time every time I never felt any tingling. Although I haven't felt the tingling the firming side of the product is working! After about 5 days my face looked considerably lifted. After ten days a doctor i was seeing for the first time had to recheck my chart because he refused to believe I was 36 and not 26.  That speaks volumes to me about the effects of this mask.

Superb cube 2 inch ice cube tray review

The superb silicone 2 inch ice tray is one of the most handy I've trays I have ever had.  They are so easy to pop out of the mold. You can just take your finger and push up from the bottom and out pops a perfectly 2 inch square block of ice! No more twisting or bending old plastic trays just to have ice fly everywhere and in broken little shards. Or running them under hot water just to get the ice to even come out. I don't know about you but I always end up grabbing the ice tray that never wants to give you the whole piece of ice, like half of it sticks in the bottom every time. The size of the cube is great for larger cups or tea pictures. We love our sweet tea here in the south and we want it cold and quick. Thanks to practico goods my tea was good and cold for a little over two hours. It melts at such a slow rate , my tea never even tasted watered down.

The silicone tray also has a steel rim inside the top. So you don't have to worry about it caving in on itself or falling over.

This ice tray is also great for making fruit juice pops. I filled the tray with Apple juice covered it in plastic and used the plastic drinking straws that we have all over the house, that come with those tumblers you see everywhere now. The plastic wrap holds the stick up for you and it's more cost saving to use the straws than the sticks. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of them because they were gone as quick as they were frozen.

Clean up was super easy, warm water and mild soap. A little rub and a little rinse and your ready to use it again. It gets better if your short on time it's also dishwasher safe!
